Gender equality and inclusion policy
RELATEC declares its commitment to gender equality and inclusion through the following practices:
Editorial policy
RELATEC guarantees a minimum percentage of 40% of women in the composition of its different editorial bodies (Director, Editor, Secretary, Editorial Committee and Editorial Boards), as well as among the people who evaluate the original manuscripts submitted to the journal.
Use of inclusive and non-sexist language
RELATEC recommends the use of inclusive and non-sexist language in all scientific articles. For its application, it is recommended to read the "Guide for a non-sexist use of language" developed by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and adopted by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) of Spain.
RELATEC promotes science communication from an inclusive perspective. The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has published the digital publication "Towards an inclusive science communication: reflections and successful actions" to address the main aspects to be taken into account for the design and implementation of inclusive science communication and dissemination projects.
Identification of authorship
RELATEC includes the full names of the authors of the works it publishes.
Gender equality in research
RELATEC will especially value those works that take sex into account, in order to allow the identification of possible differences, as well as those works whose contents, objectives and methodology promote a critical analysis of gender relations.
