Metaverses como instrumento de ensino na formação de professores do ensino superior

Resumo

Durante anos, as universidades têm vindo a fazer grandes esforços para introduzir melhorias e inovações no ensino. Para este fim, estão a incorporar a utilização de diferentes ferramentas para apoiar metodologias de ensino. Este artigo analisa a aplicação do uso de metaverses numa sessão de formação para um grupo de 47 professores universitários numa escola de negócios, utilizando a ferramenta AltspaceVR num ecrã tradicional. Os resultados obtidos num inquérito subsequente são analisados estatisticamente, mostrando certas diferenças na vontade de os utilizar, que é maior entre os mais jovens do estudo, uma vez que são considerados mais "nativos digitais"; entre os homens; entre os professores com um grau de doutoramento; e entre aqueles com mais experiência de ensino. Os resultados sugerem que os professores consideram as metáforas como uma excelente ferramenta para multiplicar as opções de ensino remoto, tanto totalmente online como híbrido, e vêem-nas como um complemento, em vez de um substituto, do ensino tradicional. No entanto, nota-se que a implementação deste instrumento requer mais formação técnica.
